For transparent LED displays, is front-emission or side-emission better?
This article introduces two LED lamp bead light-emitting mounting processes currently offered by transparent LED display manufacturers on the market.
The first is the LED lamp bead front-emission mounting process. These lamp beads are relatively large and are mounted on the PCB with their front facing outwards. Their transparency is somewhat lacking, and the brightness is generally lower (depending on the lamp bead model), typically ranging from 800 to 3000. Brightness also determines clarity; higher brightness results in relatively higher clarity. Even with the same front-emission process, different configurations result in different prices.
The second is the LED lamp bead side-emission mounting process. These lamp beads are relatively small and are mounted on the PCB with their side facing outwards. Their transparency is higher, and the brightness is generally higher (depending on the lamp bead model), typically ranging from 3000 to 5500. Higher brightness results in relatively higher clarity. Even with the same side-emission process, different configurations result in different prices.
These two different light-emitting technologies for transparent LED displays each have their own advantages and disadvantages. The choice between front-emission and side-emission depends on specific needs. Jingxin Technology suggests using side-mounted LED displays for indoor use, as high brightness is generally not required indoors; for outdoor use, front-mounted LED displays can meet the requirements for use in sunlight.
